Nasi Padang

Dark blood hues of thinly sliced, deep fried sambal tempeh entice only the bold; those who succumb find its savoury, nutty character a natural complement to its neighbour, the humble Tahu. Lavished with a crimson sheen of the familiar sweeter sambal often served in nasi lemak, the sambal tahu is an evergreen number that addicts its victims with the simple flavour of its soft, soy flesh beneath its fried, firm skin.
